A melodic metal band from Los Angeles, Eyes of Noctum saw its genesis in 2005 when leader vocalist and founder, Arcane, began experimenting as an underground solo artist. Three years later, Arcane, and former Noctum guitarist Asmodeus, began recording material they co-wrote together, taking the first step from the shadows of the unknown.
In the summer of 2008, Eyes of Noctum formed in earnest with the addition of Vardar (rhythm guitar), Templar (keyboards), Moloch (bassist), and Donner (drums). The band immediately began to produce their first complete album(released Summer 2009). The album, produced in Sweden by Fredrik Nordström (Flames, Opeth) with contributions by renowned music producer Jack Douglas (Iron Maiden, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Areosmith), consists of a variety of elements and sounds that don’t always relate to a particular genre.
"Metaphorically, Eyes of Noctum symbolizes both the stars and the universe, which philosophically translates as the guidance through darkness," asserts frontman Arcane. "The writing took years of development and experimentation to evolve into what it is today."
In early 2009, Asmodeous left Eyes of Noctum and the band added lead guitarist Neboran, who, along with Arcane, has taken on a lot of the songwriting duties. Currently, the band is working on their sophomore album containing material that represents their final sound, having parted ways with keyboardist Templar and bassist Moloch. The yet-to-be-titled album is set for release in late Spring 2010.
